Importing CSV, exporting images, syncing with Scrivener and publishing timelines on the web – tools to help move your data around.

Scrivener Syncing

Scrivener Sync

Aeon Timeline 2 allows you to sync your timeline with your Scrivener project. You can open your Scrivener project’s binder directly within your timeline. Drag events from your timeline into the binder to create a new Scrivener document, drag documents from the Scrivener binder into the timeline to create a new event, or select existing documents and events to link together.

Once events and documents are linked, changes made to one will update the other the next time you sync the files. Sync settings allow you to choose which values you wish to sync, including your Scrivener document title, label, status, synopsis, keywords, and any custom meta-data fields, and all data associated with an event inside Aeon Timeline (including relationships and property values).

Import/Export CSV

Import

Aeon Timeline 2 can import data from a range of applications via its CSV import functionality. Imported events require at least a title and start date, but you can choose how you wish to interpret each column in your CSV file. Using the import functionality, you can specify an event’s title, start and end dates,  duration, property values, keywords, relationships and external links.

In addition to importing CSV, you can also export an existing timeline to a CSV format which can then be imported into other applications.

Export Images

Aeon Timeline 2 allows you to export your timeline to various image formats, including PNG and JPEG. The Mac version of the application also allows you to export your timeline to a PDF file.

Exported images match the current display configuration of your timeline, including collapsed/expanded lanes, parents, and event details. You can choose to export the currently visible window, your entire timeline, or a date-range for your timeline.

Export to Web

Aeon Timeline 2 allows you to export your timeline into an interactive, read-only web format. This exported web format looks and feels like a timeline opened within Aeon Timeline, and allows you to zoom and scroll your timeline in a web browser.

The web export allows you to share an interactive version of your timeline with others without needing them to have Aeon Timeline installed, and allows you to take your timeline with you to places such as court rooms where installing Aeon Timeline may not be possible.
