Could you clarify the logic of the filters?

I applied a filter of (Has Character A) OR (Has Character B) OR (Has Character C) AND NOT (Colour White). I expected all and only events featuring characters A, B and C except for the events coloured white. What I seem to be getting is all events with A, B and C including the events coloured white. Is this a bug or have I got the logical order wrong? Actually, it looks like the "AND NOT" applies only to the preceding filter. Adding the colour filter after each character filter seems to have desired effect. Could you please clarify the rule? This filter is a wonderfully powerful feature, but if I've got the logic right, it would be easier if there were some way to bracket terms to clarify priorities. Thanks.

Hi, At the moment there is no way to bracket terms to clarify priorities. In terms of the logic rules, AND or AND NOT takes precedence over OR operations. (Like how multiplication and division take precedence over addition and subtraction in regular mathematics). You can read about the logic used for filters on our website here: (at the bottom of the page) In your case you would have to write the filter of A AND NOT White OR B AND NOT White OR C AND NOT White (using boolean logic order of operations this amounts to (A AND NOT White) OR (B AND NOT White) OR (C AND NOT White)) Jess

That's what I thought, thanks for the clarification.
