Arc, Character, Place in Scrivener 3

Sun, 18 Feb 2018 07:29:44 GMT

I've synced my file with Scrivener 3, but when I open my Scrivener project, I'm not able to see the arc, character, or place entities in Scrivener. I look in meta data, but it just has a button telling me to set up the meta data. Where is this supposed to show up? Thanks.

Hi, The sync data is supposed to show up in the custom metadata tab. If it hasn't appeared, the first thing to check would be that you set up each entity to sync. When you are syncing in Aeon Timeline, in the binder open the Project Sync Settings (the cog icon in the top left of the binder). You will see a list of all the options you can sync. Next to each option there is a drop down list where you can choose what you want to sync to in Scrivener. If you don't have any options in Scrivener yet, you can choose "New Custom Field" and this should create the custom metadata in Scrivener. Do you have "New Custom Field" next to the Arc, Location, Observer and Participant options? Or do they say "None"? If they do have "New Custom Field", but they are still not syncing, let us know and we will keep working to try to get to the bottom of the problem. Jess

Bingo—that's exactly what was going on. (I should've thought to check that.) I changed the settings, and it's all synced nicely now. Thank you for your prompt response and help. I'm a newbie (as you can see), but this software is a lifesaver thus far.
