Hi, I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for, but there are two things that I can suggest that may be helpful for you. One is that you can create birth/death events for a character, and then in the Manage Entities window you can assign these events as their birth and death dates, instead of assigning a specific date. These events will show up on the timeline as normal events, but have the added ability of being the birth/death of an entity. The other thing is when you "Group by Character/Person", and your entities have birth/death dates, their timeline is displayed along the top of each group (their birth, ages, and death), with different shadings to show the part of the timeline that they were alive in. Please let us know if you need more information, or can clarify more about what you are looking for. Jess
Hi Jess - I just tried this, and everything worked as you described EXCEPT that for most of the display settings (except light), either there is no change on the shadings to show the part a character is alive in, or else the change is so subtle it can barely be seen. Perhaps something to look at in the nxt version?
Hi Craig, Sorry, I should have been more explicit. When you group by Character/Person, the part of the timeline that an entity was alive in remains the same background colour as the rest of the timeline, it is the areas before they were born and after they were dead which are shaded to different colours. Looking at these areas, do you still see no change in the shading? Jess
Jess - The difference is quite subtle in the Dark and Print display modes.
Hi Craig, Are you able to attach a screenshot of the ones you think look too subtle? Thanks, Jess
Jess - Thanks, but it's not that important. I can certainly live with it.
