Won't Group by Character do what you want?
I guess it sort of could...if I add every character as an observer to that event (even if they are not an observer to the event itself).
I don't understand. If you group by character what has observer status got to do with it?
Sorry, I'm a novice at AT2. Trying to use it for multiple character arcs where there is an event that impacts everyone in the story on a particular date, such as a major plot point--let's call it the Climax of the story. Even if I group by Character, the Climax only shows on those Characters who have an Observer or Participant status on that event. It would be nice to always see where that major Event lands in the Timeline so I can work the story toward it. Or in some cases, it may be an event that has just passed, such as a major death. Good to know how far I am from that in the future. So, these would be major Events that impact the story as a whole instead of just a few characters. Hope that makes sense. Or maybe I'm just using the app incorrectly.
Hi, In Aeon Timeline at the moment you can add a vertical line displaying the "Today" position. (You can do this under Display Settings). I assume that this is like what you are looking for, except instead of it just marking the current time, you can customise it to mark any date you want? A more customisable system in regards to this has been requested before, and is on our list of possible features to add in the future. Jess
Hi Jess, The "Today" line is great. It's good to see that it'll be expanded upon. I always thought it would be "nice" to have a "where I'm at" line that I could move along with progress.
Richwords - Still don't understand. Group by Character has absolutely nothing to do with observer status. Are you perhaps confusing it with something to do with the filter?
Craig, I think I led you off track. I only meant that I could see an event that shows on all Character Arcs by adding every Character to that Event as an Observer or Participant. Then that Event shows up in their Arc in the View by Arc. But aeonjess (above comment) has it right as to what I'm looking for. Sorry to mess you up with my limited understanding.
Okay, got it. Thanks for the explanation.
