Hi! I am using the custom meta data "start date" field generated by Aeon to sort events in Scrivener outline view by date. This allows me to quickly check chronology, when the project is written out of order. In order to do this, I have to populate the "start date" field with the date written this way: yyyy-mm-dd, a strange syntax for normal use, but it sorts properly. Aeon (YAY, thank you!) understands this date, so if I create the date field in Scrivener it shows up in Aeon, looking however I have told Aeon to display it (mmmm dd, yyyy). The challenge is that if I create the event in Aeon, I am unable to make it yyyy-mm-dd, and I then have to manually change the format in Scrivener.
So here is my suggestion: in the sync settings for a scrivener project, could you add a tick box that says "make date sortable" which would change the format of the dates to yyyy-mm-dd when bringing the dates into Scrivener? 😊

Your suggestion makes sense, and this is something we will add to our wish list.
However, the Scrivener team have been working hard on Scrivener 3, and are starting to announce some of the new features appearing in that version. One of the new features they have added (that I haven't seen them talking about publicly yet) will take care of this particular issue in a different way from the Scrivener side of things, so it may not be as necessary in the long run.

Oh great! Time cures everything, 😉
